A KCC/ZeroLab Webinar Event | September 28-29, 2022
Shipping Emissions — Do Stakeholders Still Care?
Synopsis
One year ago, we sat down with an expert panel that included the Sea Cargo Charter (SCC) and peers representing dry bulk and container shipping to ask the question, “who is actually driving decarbonization in shipping?”
As 2030 looms and shipping continues to contribute 3% of the world’s total GHG emissions, and on an upward trend, we are gathering a group of panelists to revisit the question we asked last year: who will drive decarbonization in shipping in today’s world? We will touch on the policy developments in the EU and in IMO and discuss the impact from the first SCC disclosure. We will dig into what does it take to increase urgency among stakeholders and discuss how charterers and shipowners are working together today - and how they could work together going forward to pave the way to zero emissions freight.

What does it take to become a leader in decarbonization?
