The CLEANBUs continue to demonstrate their large trading flexibility
MV Barramundi completed this week the CLEANBUs first ever loading of vegetable oils in Argentina after carrying an inbound cargo of gasoil from India. In most market conditions, the CLEANBUs will in this combination trade carry grains on the return leg back to Asia, however, we this time optimized earnings by concluding a vegetable oil cargo.
Going forward, a third option for the CLEANBUs in this trade is to load partly grain and partly vegetable oil on the same shipment, doing the transportation work of both a tanker vessel and dry bulk vessel at the same time.
The phase-in of our current three CLEANBU vessels is progressing well having successfully transported six different types of chemical/clean petroleum product cargoes for six customers to and from 20 terminals/moorings since delivery in 2019.
This year additional three CLEANBU vessels are scheduled for delivery which will further strengthen KCC’s capacity and flexibility to offer customers a substantially greener option for moving tanker and dry bulk cargoes around the world.
